Warming Up to Ideas

 Hyvää huomenta! ♥ Good Morning!

When this project was introduced, it sounded too good to be true. I've been wanting to make a custom ring for the longest time, primarily because I want a cat ring, but every cat ring that exists sucks. But now here we are, a few years later and I'll be making the thing I searched for so long to find. 

To start my exploration, I drew up a few of the cat ideas I had brewing in my head, my favorite being a cat on its back, playing with a yarn ball, and lying on a pillow. Then I played around with some more abstract ideas that weren't cat-related, but ultimately I think that the Cat ring is more than ideal.

We haven't learned how to recreate or model natural forms yet in class, so recreating an animal is sure to be an absurd and fulfilling challenge that may or may not be the end of me.

There weren't many of them, but once I had that golden cat idea I knew I was hitting the ground running, ready to pounce (so to speak) on this project.
